On the Holes-Rahe scale, we were through the roof. Many of these life changes were unwanted on my part and my sense of security was threadbare. It is only with the firm foundation of faith and family that I stayed sane at all, but Brian would tell you that I wasn’t a very happy person or probably much fun to be around. Thankfully, we are now moving past this season of rapidfire changes and it’s been more than a year since many of the topsy-turvies occurred. Sure life is still stressful, but it’s a predictable stress and I’m much more content with it.

What does life look like now? I’m the mother of a 6 month old teething, babbling, crawling bundle of love. I teach math to high school freshmen every other day and stay home the other days which gives me the time to participate in activities I enjoy. I’m married to a wonderful man who is much happier in his current job than he was at his old one and has enough projects to keep him busy for the next 10 years. I am so glad that I live in New Braunfels and not weirdo Austin, and that I have a strong support network and group of friends that live here too. God willing, William will be the only one changing at hyperspeed for quite a while and we will stay put for some time, you know, unless another baby comes our way.
